Wifi Hotspots
If you are on the road a lot or take your computer laptop everywhere you go, then you will be happy to know that wifi hotspots are becoming increasingly popular. Wifi networks, which allow computers to log onto the internet wirelessly, are popping up in all big cities and suburbs all over the country. Many large cities are even building city wide hot spots to allow all residents to get online without any cables or cords.
Wifi has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years and the technology has been proven to be reliable and very affordable. All you need to get on a wifi network, is a wifi card. While many laptops that are made today come with a wifi card installed, if you have an older computer you can easily purchase a wifi card for less than $100.
Once you have a wifi card installed in your computer, you computer will automatically tell you if there is a wifi hotspot available to log onto for access to the internet. You can then choose to log on.
Wifi hotspots are very popular in large cities and many restaurants and cafes such as McDonalds and Starbucks have wifi available for all their customers. Some restaurants charge either a daily or monthly fee to log on, while others are free. Expect to pay a few dollars for a daily wifi plan or about $20 to $30 per month to log onto these special hotspots. So if you are looking for a great way to log onto the internet with out any wires or cords, check out wifi hotspots.
