The Features Of Geothermal Heat Pumps Final

The geothermal heat pump is also known as the ground source heat pumps. It is a highly efficient source of renewable energy technology. The good news is that this technology is gaining wide acceptance world wide. This wide acceptance is for both commercial and domestic complexes. The main feature of this geothermal pump is that it is used for both spaces heating and cooling.

The waste heat can be use to heat water for free. The main advantage of geothermal energy resource is that it uses the heat which occurs naturally in the Earth's surface and not by burning the fossil fuels.

The very basis of this technology is that the Earth beneath the surface remains fairly at a constant temperature for example a cave which remains cool during summer and warm during the winter season.

The geothermal heat pump takes the advantage of this fact by transferring the heat stored in the Earth or in the ground water and transfers it to the building.

In summer the pump transfers the heat of the building to the Ground. The ground in other words acts as a heat source during the winter season and as a heat sink in the summer season.

The system consists of the following principle parts:

Geothermal Earth connection subsystem
Geothermal heat pump subsystem
Geothermal heat distribution subsystem

Let us consider them one by one:

Earth connection:

Using the Earth as the source of heat and also the source of heat sink there is a series of pipes which are present in the in this Earth connection.

This loop can be buried in the ground near the building in horizontal or vertically. This circulates a fluid of water or a mixture of water and antifreeze that absorbs heat from the surrounding soil, depending upon the quality of air. That is if the air is colder or warmer then the soil.

Heat pump:

This application is used in the geothermal pumps as it removes the heat form the fluid in the Earth connection, concentrates it and then transfers it to the building for cooling the reverse process is done that is the heat pump removes heat from the Building and transfers it to the fluid in the earth connection.

Heat distribution:

The most amazing feature of Geothermal Heat pumps is that it distributes heat throughout the buildings unlike the conventional dut work.

The other feature of Geothermal Heat distribution is that it offers hot water produced during the cooling and heating process.

These features can be easily seen in Geothermal Heat pumps which have made them popular.
